Hello!
So a few days ago we checked out from Hotel Royal and headed towards hangout@mt.emily. We decided to walk because it took only 40 minutes to reach our new destination. And what we learned from this small trip was that we Finns are not made for weather like this. It's been over 30 degrees every day, so when you walk with your heavy backpacks there will be sweat pouring. We will never ever complain about Finland's summer when it's only +20 degrees hot. And it's not just how hot it is, but it's how much there's humidity in the air. The second you step outside, you're surrounded by this heavy, moist air. But we are not complaining. Just telling you how it is over here compared to our home land.
But here's something from our walk.

Hotel Royal |
Our hostel is more like a hotel. There are rooms where over 10 people can share a room, but our room is just for three people. And we have our own bathroom. Heh. Not really a hostel experience we were looking for, but this is just perfect for us. This is our favorite hotel so far. And breakfast is included!
After resting for a moment, enjoying the air conditioning, we checked out Peace Center, which is a mall, close to us. It wasn't a big mall at all. It's old and I think it has already seen it's glory days. But we found this Korean restaurant The Cup. It is amazing! If you like Korean food, you should definitely try this place.

Kimchi Chicken, Bibimbap and dumplings. So good! |
After sleeping the night, we started our next little trip towards Gardens by the Bay. Once again it took about 40 minutes - and as we Finns say, soijaa pukkaa. We had to stop once to this little park so we didn't pass out. Drinking water is super important. So this was our resting place for a moment, and while we sat there this little group with two adorable dogs came by and asked if we wanted to give something for CAS (Causes for Animals Singapore). They want to make sure animals are taken care for. And because we love animals, we gave them all our coins. So we did some charity as well!
Singapore is a beautiful city. So different compared to Hong Kong. There's so much green everywhere. And it's clean. When Hong Kong was packed to the limit, it feels like there's room and space in Singapore. We like it here and we can recommend to visit this city.
Next we stopped at Suntec City Mall. It was HUGE! This is a place to go if you love to shop. But because shopping is not our passion, we followed our noses and found ourselves downstairs where the restaurants were located. There are so many options, but we chose Nam Nam. It's a Vietnamese noodle bar. And we hit a jackpot. Their food was so delicious, I was in heaven. My favorite dishes so far.

Marina Bay Sands was a sight to behold. To us, it looked like a ship landed on three buildings :D

And now, the part you've been waiting for. Gardens by the Bay. Wow. It was beautiful. We didn't visit the flower or cloud forest dome or supertree grove. We just walked through the garden and it was enough. There was so much to see and it was nice to spend the day surrounded by different trees, flowers and small rivers and ponds.

And suddenly we were in Caribbean |
You'll never believe, but we met other Finns! It was hilarious. We were sitting on a bench, eating some fruits, when I heard someone talking Finnish. So I looked to the left and saw two men with their families walking towards us. And I bravely said "Terve!" (because when you meet someone from your home country when you are on the other side of the world, you have to say something!). It was funny to see their faces. They smiled and said "Morjens!" back and then we talked for some time. They were super nice and we want to bless them. It was a funny encounter which made us smile for the rest of the night.
Moving on. Once again when night came, everything became so much more beautiful.
At 8:00PM we wandered to Supertree Groves just in time to see their music/light show. We didn't know anything about this so it was such a pleasant surprise to see it from the start. It lasted maybe around 10 minutes and it was so so pretty. In Hong Kong we watched their music/light show and it was a disappointment. We knew it wasn't going to be anything magnificent, but it let us down. So it was such an amazement to see this beautiful, fun show. You have to come see this if you ever visit Singapore. Thank you, God, for leading us here! Sadly I can't upload the video of the show for you to see :(
But that's it for now. Next time I'll be showing pictures from our trip to Singapore Zoo!
Bye! :)
